His colleague, Gene, then introduces him to this bartender called Rosie. Rise does not match the criteria of what Don looks for in a woman. But he still has an affinity for her as it turns out. So basically he’s started liking someone that does not align with his criteria. Her mother is dead. And she wants to find her biological father. So the fact that her other is dead, she can not ask where her biological father is from her mother. So with the help of Don, she tries to look for him. Don calls this quest the “Father Project” How does she look for the father? Well, her mother was with her father at a graduation party before Rosie was born so what Don does is he uses DNA testing to see who is the father and he does it in a lab where he lies that it is for a project as time goes on Rosie and Don are getting to know each other so don learns that the reason why Rise is a Bartender is because she needs money to pay for her university as she is doing a doctorate in psychology
